Many companies have more than one fixed telephone line that will be used, might ask for references. In addition, the recruiters cell / mobile phone for business and they could use and remember that you can use one or business or cellular / mobile phone and hold down the number.
Make sure the referee knows that the company (the appeal), polite and professional and ask if you mind to know with whom you may know, that after the reference.

Certainly not my personal cell phone to check the references of a potential employee, and I can not imagine anyone else would be more. However, note that many companies have more than one line, so that the call coming from some of these numbers.
